Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa)
The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), is situated in the Kandy town. Sri Dalada Maligawa is one of the most sacred places for Buddhists. Kandy is a World Heritage mainly due to the Temple. In 1988, It was declared as a world heritage site. Since ancient times it believes that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. the Temple located in the royal palace complex. There are two stories in the main shrine known as "pale Malaya" and "Udu Malaya." Here you can see that rituals are performed three times for a day as, at dawn, at noon and evenings. If you can go one of those times, you can see that beauty and feel the amazement. Bhikkus of the two chapters of Malwattha and Asgiriya conduct the daily worship here. After Nanumura Mangallaya (symbolic bathing of the relic)that holy water is distributed among those present. You can get those blessings if you present there on Wednesdays. You can see a massive proportion of architecture, including Sandakada pahana (moonstone) and other stone carvings. Esala Perahera
Esala Perahara is one of the oldest Buddhist festivals in Sri Lanka, and it's showing in June. This Kandy Esala Perahara lasts for ten days. The Esala Perahera celebrates to honor the Sacred Tooth Relic, and it also acknowledges the four guardian Gods named Natha, Virusishnu, Katharagama, and Goddess Paththini. Here you can see traditional dancers, musicians, fantastic fire breathers, decorated elephants, etc. Kandy Esala Perahara is one of the most beautiful pageants in Asia. This ceremony which annually attracts large crowds from all parts of the country and also many foreign tourists.

Kandy Lake
Kandy Lake is an artificial lake situated next to the Temple of the Tooth, in the middle of the city of Kandy. It was built in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe. It is also known as the Sea of Milk. There are famous historical stories related to this lake and the area—the lake surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful mountains. When you visit Kandy Sri Lanka, sure to walk around the lake and get that feel.
Royal Botanic Garden
The garden situated in Peradeniya, about 5.5km west to the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. There are more than 4000 species of plants. The total area of the botanical garden is about 147 acres. Very well maintained. It lies at 460m above sea level. You can see spices, medicinal plants, and especially the Orchids here. It is renowned for its collection of Orchids. It is under the supervision of the Division of National Botanic Gardens of the Department of Agriculture. A fantastic place that you can’t miss when in Kandy.

Nelligala Temple Kandy
You can reach here after passing 11km from the Kandy or 7km from Peradeniya town, One of the most beautiful, peaceful temple. A significant space is available here with a breathtaking view. There are several roads to Nelligala. You can get a fantastic view of Hanthana mountain, Pidurangala, and Knuckles mountain while climbing the mountain. Ven. Wathurakumbure Dharmarathana Thero is the founder of this magnificent sacred place, the International Buddhist Center. The natural environment is mind soothing. Udawattakele Forest Reserve
If you are a bird watcher, this is one of the best places to visit. It lays on a hill ridge in the city of Kandy. It is about 104hectares large and became a sanctuary in 1938. This forest contains a great variety of plants, especially the giant lianas. There is a nature education center with a display of pictures, etc. Udawattakele Forest Reserve is famous among foreign tourists. Three Buddhist meditation hermitages and three rock shelter dwellings for Buddhist monk hermits show the religious importance here. It is rich in biodiversity. One of the significant places in Kandy. You get a chance to spend your time with nature here. Udawattakele Forest Reserve is a great place to immerse yourself in the calmness and beauty of nature.
